Budapest New Tech Meetup Blog

Elkezdődött a novemberi esemény szervezése, próbáljuk véglegesíteni az előadók névsorát. Az már most látszik, hogy nagyon sok jó előadás lesz, szóval tessék már most rögzíteni mindenkinek a Google, Outlook vagy iCal naptárakban a november 7.-i estét.

Ízelítőnek a témákból:

Rátky Gábor kollégám egy érdekes céges projectet fog bemutatni. A fejlesztés célja a Visual Studio keretrendszerét felkészíteni játék kiegészítők fejlesztésére. Szó lesz a megoldásról, plusz a Lua nyelvről, és hogy milyen érzés munkaidőben játékot tolni.

Varga Dániel a Mokk-tól arról fog beszélni (és demonstrálni), hogy a választások várható eredményeit hogyan lehetne manipulálni a választási kerületek újraszabásával. Lehet, hogy politikusok is jönnek erre a meetupra?

Fontos része a meetup koncepciónak, hogy az előadások után maradjatok még sörözni is kicsit, egyrészt mert az jó, másrészt a bár nyeresége csökkenti a mi költségeinket. A korábbi Wii party sikerére építve, most Guitar Heroes játékot tervezünk a projectoron, kihangosítva, remekül megy a sörhöz!

Swiss officials are using quantum cryptography technology to protect voting ballots cast in the Geneva region of Switzerland during parliamentary elections to be held Oct. 21, marking the first time this type of advanced encryption will be used for election protection purposes.

IBM’s plans with Linden Lab to create 3D Internet standards. The partnership has now been officially announced, with more specific plans on what the goals are for making virtual worlds interoperable:

• “Universal” Avatars: “Users could maintain the same “avatar” name, appearance and other important attributes (digital assets, identity certificates, and more) for multiple worlds.”
• Security-rich Transactions that allow users to exchange assets both more securely in individual virtual worlds, but also across multiple worlds.
• Platform stability: As a part of this goal, IBM also announced that Kaneva would be standardizing across IBM servers. More generally the goal is to “accelerate user adoption, deliver faster response times for real-world interactions, and provide for high-volume business use.”
• Integration with existing Web and business processes: “Regardless of their source,” IBM wants to allow existing business applications and data repositories interact with virtual worlds to make business adoption more feasible.
• Open standards for interoperability with the current Web: The two want to create open source development of open standards to connect virtual worlds in a way similar to the way users move across the Web.

Próbáljuk összeszedni, hogy hová érdemes elküldenünk az aktuális programot. Olyan szakmai oldalakra és blogokra gondolunk, amit a meetup célközönsége olvas. Egyelőre az IVSZ-en, a Webisztánon, a linux.hu-n, HUP-on, és zárt listákon jelenünk meg.
